Level R-709位于后室R层群，为其第709层。

描述（Description）

Level R-709于2009年被一名探员发现，此次发现也是关于该层级的第一次记录。

该层级在环境上被描述为一片海域，其类似于前厅中水下500～800m的区域。值得注意的是，任何向上探索至水面或向下探索至水底的尝试均以失败告终，又因目前在海域中尚未发现该层级其它方向的任何边界，故据此推测该层级在三维空间内的各种角度上均是无限长度。

似乎遥不可及的水面……

Level R-709的上方存在未知光线，其与太阳光的光谱极为相似，且为这片海域带来了约21.7℃的恒定水温。此外该层级无季节变化且拥有约23.5小时的昼夜更替。

虽测得该层级达到了等同于6.5倍大气压强的平均水压，但流浪者仍可在此进行如呼吸等正常的生命活动，且几乎不受其影响。

Level R-709浅层的光线是极其暗淡的。这使得流浪者需照明设备才能在该层级的浅层内进行探索，尽管该层级内除海水之外似乎并无他物。不同于浅层，该层级水下970m以后的深层是没有任何光线的。即使流浪者携带了照明设备，仍无法轻易在深层探索。鉴于目前有关深层的资料的资料相对较不完善，不建议流浪者在深层停留过久。

该层级的海水除盐分及少量无害微生物外物任何杂质，但因流浪者在饮用海水之后会出现脱水等不良反应，故该层级的海水对流浪者而言无任何饮用价值。虽该层级被水填充满，但其中的水似乎不会进入到流浪者的皮肤内，所以于该层级中的流浪者无需对此类问题而担心。

Level R-709一片寂静。该层级在多数情况下除缓慢的水流声以外无任何声响出现。有时，流浪者会听到层级上方传出雨声，因该层级不存在水面，尚无法知晓其成因。在该层级的水域中，声音的传播方式略有不同，故在该层级也无法产生回声。

逐渐远离的那一束微光……

目前，在Level R-709内无任何有关发现实体的记录。但多名流浪者声称，在该层级内听到了并非来自于自己声音的低语，这些低语通常保持着极小的音量，以单字或单个词组在流浪者切入该层级的几分钟内呈规律性出现，其所表达的意思尚不清晰。

因持续时间较短，低语无法对流浪者造成较大精神影响；又因在该层级的多名流浪者互不相遇，排除其来自其他流浪者的可能性。

据多名流浪者的口述，尽管该层级不存在水面，在流浪者切入该层级时，仍会感受到类似落入水中的冲击感。随后，流浪者的视线将会以极快的速度变得模糊不清，无法看清楚物体，且常伴随着极强的窒息感以及四肢无法活动。据其所言，在他们切入该层级的一瞬间，似乎在层级上方看到了一片随海水荡漾的界限，形似水面。目前，该种说法尚无法得到印证。

据调查发现，曾因水而发生过危险，如常发生的呛水或较极端的跳河、跳海自杀未遂的流浪者，切入该层级的概率将大幅提高。据符合上述条件的流浪者的描述，其身处于该层级将不受控制地想起这些经历，尽管其此前已将此种经历忘却。值得庆幸的是，此效应除会使流浪者产生对此感到难堪的想法以外无其它精神影响。

虚影（The blurs）Phenomenon R-709

它似乎离我很近……

虚影是在Level R-709中发生的现象。因其可活动性，其最初被归类为实体，直至2016年正式被分至现象。

虚影在Level R-709中发生的概率较大。其具体表现为由颜色与周围环境相差较大的轮廓所组成的动态图像；通常，该现象为同一时间内单次出现。

图像的内容据了解大部分为流浪者此前所经历的任一事件，且以第三人称的角度呈现。但流浪者不可对其操控，且此现象同一时间内仅会在层级内的一名流浪者身上产生，位于该层级相同位置的其他流浪者无法感知。

所呈现的事件不论积极或是消极，大多为流浪者所印象深刻的。除此之外，虚影所呈现的其他内容均为由杂乱的线条组成的无意义图像。

虚影通常出现在该层级的较深处，但当流浪者意识较模糊时，该现象的出现频率会升高，以至于在该层级的浅层出现。不过该现象不会对流浪者产生任何精神影响，一般不必为发生此现象而担忧自身情况。

基地、前哨和社区（Bases, Outposts, and Communities）

Level R-709中目前不存在已知的基地、前哨和社区；且因该层级为单人层级，建立前哨被认为是完全不可能且不现实的。尽管如此，最近在该层级中存在的一些漂流的物件说明了仍有流浪者尝试在其中建立单人前哨。

Level R-709的早期资料表明，该层级在刚被发现时为多人层级，且在层级入口附近形成了数个小型前哨。但在2011年后，这些前哨接连发生了多起成员失踪事件，且失踪人员坚持表示自己仍在该前哨范围之内，但无法看见该前哨其他成员。随着“失踪”人员的占比不断升高，以至于到了在同一位置的多名流浪者互不相遇的地步，该层级也于2012年正式被归类为“单人层级”。
